RECRUITMENT POLICY
Junior Members
When the club is approached by a prospective junior cricketer wishing to become a member with a view to practising and playing for the club, the following action will be taken:
- Wherever possible, the child (and parent(s)) is directed to the Junior Co-ordinator
- The Junior Co-ordinator will welcome the child to the club, and explain how the Junior Section operates. This will include:
- ECB Child Welfare Policy (including Club Welfare Officer)
- All club coaches and team managers have completed a Criminal Record Bureau check (CRB)
- Equal Opportunities Policy
- Membership details
- Facilities available (including tour of the club)
- Match and practise times
- Club contact details (including appropriate Junior Manager – U17’s, U15’s, U13’s, U11’s etc)
- Copy of Junior Rules
- Before a child can practise with, or play for the club, junior membership forms must be completed andsigned by the childs parent / guardian and the child (if over 12) to ensure that all areas of the ECB Child
Welfare Policy are being addressed:
- The Code of Conduct
- Junior Rules
- Agreement to follow the Parent / Spectator Code of Conduct
- Consent for photography
- Travel arrangements to matches
- Sharing of changing rooms
- Dealing with injuries and illnesses
- Wearing of helmets whilst batting / wicket keeping (standing up)
- Medical information
- Parents / Guardians will also be given copies of:
- Child Welfare Officer details
- Junior Club Rules
- Code of Conduct for Parents / Carers / Guardians
- Guidelines for club changing facilities policy
- The parents / guardians will also be encouraged to become social members of the club in support of
their child’s membership (i.e. family membership)
- The child will then be introduced to the Junior Manager in charge of the particular age group that is appropriate to the child.
Senior Members
Where the club is approached by a prospective senior cricketer wishing to become a member with a view to practising and playing for the club, the following action will be taken:
- Clearance from any previous club will be required through a transfer form.
- The player will be registered with the Halifax League 48 hours before playing for the club.
- The player will be required to complete a Self Declaration Form before they are eligible for selection. The Self Declaration Form will be held by the Child Protection Officer.
Where the player wishes to be involved in the coaching / management of junior players, the club will
- request details from the previous club of the character of the individual.
- require them to undertake a Criminal Record Bureau check (CRB)
